Easter Weekend

sisters, Katie - 3 Carly - 22 months

We are having a wonderful Easter weekend thanks to some beautiful spring weather (finally!) and two very happy little girls.   Yesterday was a beautifully sunny day so we took advantage of it and went to the park to soak up some much needed Vitamin D.  The girls had fun walking along the boardwalk and playing with all of the other kids whose parents had the same idea.  Here in the northwest, everyone comes out when the sun first shines after a VERY long winter.

After our trip to the park and a very long nap, Katie and I colored eggs while Carly played at Papa and grandma's house.  She is going through a very clingy stage right now and wants to constantly be in my arms or on my lap if I am in sight.  Therefore, the only way we were going to actually get some egg dying done was for Katie and I have to mommy, daughter solo time.

Easter morning was wonderful!  Jeff and I actually got to sleep in until 6:30 and wake up on our own instead of to Carly crying out for mommy.  We enjoyed a cup of coffee and I made homemade cinnamon roles.   The girls woke up shortly after that and we finished the movie Hop that we had started the night before.  The girls love movies, especially Katie, and it's nice to get some snuggles in while they are holding still.  After we got the girls dressed we headed outside to see if EB (the Easter bunny) had made a visit to our house.   Surprisingly he did and he even left a red wagon with Easter baskets inside!  It was a perfect weekend with family.

Happy Easter from the Garner's!
