Caught in the Act

This morning while I was changing Carly's diaper I noticed it was unusually quiet in the living room.  I yell out to Katie, "what are you doing?" but didn't get a response so I knew something was up.  When I walked out she was siting sweetly under the window eating something.  Immediately she said "the Easter bunny brought me a treat" and when I looked down I saw the evidence on the floor.

The funny thing about all of this is that Katie doesn't get much candy.  She has only had it a handful of times including this past Easter when I let her have two jelly beans.  And don't get me wrong, I am not a mean mom and opposed to candy, especially since I can't resist jelly beans and hot tamales, I just want to avoid it as much as possible while she is young and doesn't know any better.  So when she found and got to eat a whole hersheys kiss it was a BIG deal!

And the cutest thing part was when she was  all done with her kiss she yelled out "thank you Easter bunny for the treat!" I of course couldn't help but laugh.
