Odds and Ends

I haven't blogged much this week because things have been a little crazy.  On Friday I organized and facilitated a conference for 25 people who came from different Head Starts throughout Washington.  It took a lot of preparation and because I am such a perfectionist, I put a lot of pressure on myself to make sure everything went well.  Luckily it turned out great and and everyone enjoyed it so much that they want to do it again in the fall.  What a relief!

Friday night after the conference Jeff and I went out to celebrate.  For the first time since Carly was born we let grandpa come over and hang out at the house after the girls went to bed.  We went and did something we have only done once before and that was to go to the casino.  Jeff used to live in Vegas and work security at a casino so he usually doesn't like going back to that environment.  But I needed something brainless after the conference so we went and had a few drinks, dinner and spent 10 bucks on the penny slots.  I lost all of 16 cents!  It was a lot of fun and so nice to get out and just be a couple.

We came home at 9:30 and around 10:15 Carly woke up crying.  That was the first of 4 wake ups that night and in the morning she woke up all congested. Of course Katie got sick too so this weekend we have spent it wiping runny noses and consoling sick girls.

Both of them just seem to have colds and all I can say is come on spring!  I am really tired of illness and it seems like just when all of us get healthy, someone else gets sick.  Hopefully, this is building up strong immune systems and they won't get sick so much once they start school.

The rest of the weekend was laid back.  Katie and Jeff worked out while Carly watched.

Last night we had our first family movie night.  We watched Toy Story 2 and Katie loved it.  I of course fell asleep so Katie and daddy ended up having movie night. Today the girls stayed home with Jeff while I went grocery shopping and this is what I came home to...

the sign says "Fort Garner"
Hopefully, tomorrow everyone will be feeling better and Jeff and I can avoid the germs this time around.
