Dinner and a Tea Party

Jeff and I enjoyed a wonderful date night this past Friday. We started with drinks at Nimbus, then a Tea Party at the Mt. Baker Theater (more on this later), followed by a late dinner at Red Robin. I was a little nervous about how Lil Miss would do since it was the first time we had been away from her at bedtime but all went well and she and my friend, Linda had a great time together. The only time Katie wasn't totally happy was during her bedtime feeding. I am still exclusively breastfeeding so when she had to drink from a bottle instead of from mommy, she got mad and decided that she wasn't very hungry after all. She loves her routine and she knew that wasn't part of it....I guess she did get some of my personality traits after all.

Ok, back to our night out. We started at Nimbus which is a wonderful restaurant here in Bellingham that is on the top floor of the highest building (all 14 floors of it) in town. Every table has a spectacular view of the city, mountains, or waterfront. We didn't have time for dinner but enjoyed a drink looking over the bay. Then we headed over to the Tea Party. This was an event sponsored by "We the People" , an non-partisan organization consisting of local citizens who believe our government is spending too much and becoming too powerful. Jeff and I believe this as well and are scared about the direction our country is going and what the future holds for our children. We want to see the principles found in the Constitution restored and for this country to get back to what its founding fathers believed in. This event was a very educational and inspirational program that consisted of speakers, video presentations, and patriotic songs. It was also an event to remember what happened on 9/11. Below is one of my favorite videos from the event.
