Weekend Update

This was a busy weekend for Katie because she had a lot of wonderful visitors. Yesterday, a friend that Jeff works with and his wife stopped by for a while. Then a couple hours later Aunty Linda came over to visit with us and then she offered to watch Katie for a little while. So Jeff and I took her up on her wonderful offer and we went to the gym together which was really nice for both of us! Katie did great while we are away and slept most of the time. Thank you so much Linda! Lastly, my cousin Chase and his fiance, Meagan came by for a visit. Needless to say Katie had a busy day and you would think she would have been tired and slept really well for us last night but oh no....she actually did just the opposite and was awake for a very long time. It got very overwhelming for me because I would feed her, she would fall asleep, I would lay her in her bed, and then just as I was about to fall asleep she would wake up again. We kept playing this game for about 3 hours and yes, I was exhausted and emotional. Luckily it was the weekend and Jeff got up with her which allowed me to finally get some sleep. They came back into the bedroom around 1:30am and from then on our night was normal with her waking up every three hours and then going back to sleep very easily. Hopefully that type of night won't happen a lot.

Today, the Shaw family came over for a visit and it was great to see them. Jeff and my Jeff have been best friends since high school and now him and his wife, Jen have four beautiful children. Now that I have one newborn I have no idea how she did it with four but I guess it gets easier with each child.

We also took some more random pictures for everyone to enjoy! The sling that I had been anxiously waiting for to arrive came on Friday and here she is all snug as a bug in a rug. She didn't stay happy for long though so I am not sure if we will be keeping the sling....it isn't as easy to use as I had hoped it would be.
